When shopping for a bedspread, it is important to know the size of your bed and the way in which you will be able to take care of it. Most chenille bedspreads will need to be dry cleaned. If you prefer a more breathable fabric, you will usually be able to put them in a washing machine on a cold setting.
Your choice of material may depend to some extent on the expected range of temperatures in the bedroom. If there are seasons when it becomes quite cold in the room at night, then a heavy one with good heat retention would be desirable. Wool is a good material for keeping warm, but there are other good choices for this.
